A Peek at the Future

No outfit post today, because the challenge is over. Not that I won't ever post outfit pictures again..but today, none. I do have kind of a great story for you.

On Saturday we went to Walmart for a few things. As we worked through the store to get some canning supplies (more on that adventure later), we saw that a little old lady was stranded on one of those electric cart things that had run out of batteries. She was stuck there trying to sort of wiggle the car forward, and the poor woman was stuck directly in the walkway between the groceries and electronics, which is a terrible place to be stuck, especially on a Saturday. Nate, being the fabulous person that he is, went up to her and asked her if he could help. She explained that the battery had died, and so Nate went to the front of the store to get her a new cart with a battery that wasn't dead. This took a surprisingly long time, because it turns out that the carts don't actually move very quickly. About 5-10 minutes after Nate left, I look towards the groceries, and see Nate, riding sloooooooowly around the corner on this little cart that makes a spectacular "wheeeeeeeeeeee" sound. It probably took a full 30 seconds for Nate to get the 20 feet or so from the end of the aisle to where the woman was stranded. Nate stood by as a Walmart associate (who had finally stopped to help after 3 others had just hurried past her) helped her onto the new cart, and we all went on our merry way.
My Fabulous Nate, holding Katie's hand...melts my heart every time.

I sincerely wish that I had a little movie of Nate's trip through Walmart on that scooter. I also wish that I could have heard what people must have been thinking about this young man who was puttering around on the scooters. Makes me laugh every time I think about it.
