Book: The Atmosphere, Seventh Edition
A single hailstone may contain several ice layers consisting of alternating zones of clear and milky ice. The milky layers are produced by the rapid freezing of small supercooled water droplets, which trap tiny air bubbles in the ice. By contrast, the clear ice is produced when larger droplets collide with the growing stone.
Now you've all learned about hailstones...I hope you feel enlightened.
Man, I was so tempted to pretend that some other book was the nearest book--the Book of Mormon, Too Late the Phalarope, maybe even Eclipse...alas. I followed the rules, and now I look like a nerd.

To clarify, this is one of the textbooks that I'm using for the Meteorology class I'm teaching next year.
I tag MaryIrene, Rosalee, Chase, Jennifer, and Kayla. Also, I'm not really sure who reads our blog anyway...thinking of people to put on here was more difficult than I thought.
I'm not gonna lie, I was kinda hoping you'd tag me. Getting tagged makes me feel important.
