Tuck it In

When I saw this prompt, I groaned a little bit inside. I've done a little bit of tucking in here and there lately...like, 3 times in the last year, with a pencil skirt, for church, and I was feeling pretty progressive.

Not that I don't think things being tucked in look nice. All growing up my mom would tell me to tuck in my shirt whenever we were doing something fancy casual. I would usually tuck it in until I caught sight of myself in a mirror, and then un-tuck it quickly. This would leave me with a wrinkled bottom-half of my shirt....super cool.
Shirt: JC Penny (via Plato's Closet), Shorts: Old Navy (Via Thrift Store, hemmed into shorts), Undershirt: Shade

Slightly Random Tangent: my mom would also try to tell me that it was OK to put my bangs back when I was younger. I had somehow gotten into my head that I had a weirdly large forehead, and so whenever my mom would do my hair for church and nicely put my bangs back, I would find my way to the church bathroom, soak my hands, and then pull my bangs out and plaster them down on my forehead. Sorry mom--you did try to help me be somewhat normal fashion-wise. End Tangent.

So, tucking is not something that's normally part of my fashion history. Tucking into pants is a stretch, and tucking into shorts...who does that?

Me...apparently.

Indy got into the action as well. He's wearing a collar from Chaco. As dogs go, he's really quite fashionable.

These pictures were brought to you by my husband, and our front porch thing...thanks Nate!

  1. for me its the lack of nice/cute belt. I hate wearing belts, so don't have good ones, and feel like they are needed w/pants

  3. I groaned about the tucking, too. But we did it! It's working for you.

  4. I stole this belt from my husband, and we added a few extra holes to it. It's been working pretty well for me so far. I think you're totally right about belts and pants tucking. I have tucked my shirt into some wide-waistband skirts with no belt and I think it worked...maybe? :)
